What does Vehicle tracking mean?

Vehicle tracking means knowing the location of a vehicle as it moves from one place to another.
 

Who needs this tracking solution?

The vehicle tracking is useful to any Fleet owner or Logistics Manager who need up-to-date information about the location of the vehicle. This information helps the user in planning his activities and also helps improving the productivity. This facility could be used for trucking, Delivery, Security, Service, Contracting, Trailers, Tankers, etc.
 

What is unique about eTracK tracking solution? How is it different from what is presently available in the market?

The tracking solutions available in the market are mainly of two types: 1) On-line tracking and 2) Off-line tracking. On-line time tracking provides details of current location, whereas Off Line tracking gives information location of vehicles at some point of time in the past.
While on-line vehicle tracking is normally done thru a costly GPS-GSM system or a satellite communication based system, eTracK is a low cost reliable system based purely on GSM technology with GSM connectivity provided thru the country’s largest cellular network provider.

        Off-line tracking systems are either data loggers attached to the vehicle where in the location data and other parameters are captured and viewed at the end of trip, or swipe cards wherein information captured is manually collated and presented to customer thru email or fax the next day.
 

What are other benefits other than locating vehicle position?

Apart from location, date and time, standard reports furnish information on average speed of vehicle, vehicle route, distance covered and cumulative distance in that trip. It also helps the Fleet owners to find the idling time of the vehicle and also predict the arrival time at destination. In short it acts as a productivity enhancement tool of the operator.

        Apart from the above there are intangible benefits due to customer satisfaction, securitization of vehicle, activity reporting, improved communications, facility of polling on demand thru mobile based query etc.
 

Does the GSM vehicle tracking system require any input from my drivers?

No. Driver input is not required with the eTracK vehicle tracking system. In fact, some owners install the system without the knowledge of their field crews.
 

How do I use the Website to locate my vehicle?

Login under your unique login and password and follow the instructions provided to you in the user manual. The system will provide location data on your screen.
